Acura Now Sells 3,000+ Reproduction Parts for the Original NSX Through Its Dealers

Honda Heritage Parts reaches the U.S. with factory-made pieces for the 1991–2005 NSX, sold only through Acura dealers and Honda's DreamShop. More classics are planned but unnamed.

Acura has started selling more than 3,000 factory-made reproduction parts for the first-generation NSX in the U.S. The pieces cover the 1991–2005 car, and the only places to buy them are Acura dealerships and Honda's online DreamShop.

This is the U.S. launch of Honda Heritage Parts, and it extends a shift we tracked in our look at automakers eating the aftermarket's lunch. This time the target isn't a new truck's first upgrades. It's the parts that keep a car out of production for more than two decades on the road.

Japan first, now the U.S.

Honda announced the program in December 2025 under a new Honda Heritage Works banner and opened it in Japan on April 1, 2026. According to Honda, the parts come in two kinds: some are remade with the original materials and production methods, while others are redeveloped with new materials and suppliers where the old process no longer works.

The catalog covers the NSX's full production run, including the 2002–2005 update. Japan also gets a factory restoration service built on the NSX Refresh Plan that Honda has offered since 1993. The U.S. announcement covers parts only.

Mamadou Diallo, executive vice president at American Honda, said the point is keeping the cars "on the road for today's enthusiasts and future generations."

A bigger start than its rivals

Japan's other factory heritage programs started smaller. Nissan's NISMO Heritage program launched in Japan in late 2017 with about 80 parts for the R32 Skyline GT-R. Mazda brought its first-generation Miata restoration parts to the U.S. in 2019 with more than 1,100 new and legacy pieces. Toyota's GR Heritage Parts project has remade parts for the A70 and A80 Supra, the 2000GT, the 40 Series Land Cruiser, and the AE86.

Routing the parts through franchise dealers fits Honda's wider playbook. Its racing arm's HRC Performance Parts will reach the same showrooms in March 2027. Porsche has gone further with classics, running a restoration contest among its own dealers.

What Acura hasn't said

Acura hasn't published prices or a parts list for the U.S. It also hasn't named the next classic Acura or Honda model, saying only that it plans to expand the program. In Japan, Honda said it would post available parts on the Heritage Works website and update the list as new pieces are added.
