Alfa Romeo Teases the Concept It Says Every Alfista Has Been Waiting For

The Italian brand will lift the cover on an unnamed concept on October 12 in Paris — a driver-focused design statement arriving at the lowest point in its US sales history.

Alfa Romeo will pull the cover off a new concept car at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, and the company is framing it as nothing less than a manifesto for its future — the first clear signal of where Stellantis' Italian sports brand goes from here.

The announcement gives away almost nothing. There's no name, no silhouette, and no technical detail — just a single teaser image of sculpted bodywork finished in deep red. What Alfa Romeo does say is that the concept is built around three ingredients: Italy, sportiness, and the color red, and that it was created "for those who still love driving and seeking authentic experiences behind the wheel."

That language, along with the brand's claim that this is "the car every Alfista has long been waiting for," points toward a driver-focused sports car rather than another crossover. Alfa Romeo isn't confirming a body style, though, and the teaser shot is deliberately abstract.

A halo moment for a brand under pressure

The concept will anchor a big Stellantis presence in Paris. The group is bringing nine concept cars from eight brands and more than 60 vehicles to the show, with Alfa Romeo displaying its full lineup — Junior, Tonale, Giulia, Stelvio, and 33 Stradale — alongside a Spider "Duetto" from the brand's museum in Arese, marking the roadster's 60th anniversary.

The timing matters. Alfa Romeo's US sales fell 36 percent to just 5,652 vehicles in 2025, according to Stellantis' full-year results, and Motor1 reports they dropped another 45 percent through the first half of 2026. Next-generation versions of the Giulia and Stelvio have reportedly been delayed while engineers rework them to accommodate combustion engines, and Stellantis' May 2026 roadmap named Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and Fiat as its core brands, repositioning Alfa Romeo as a regional and historic marque.

Against that backdrop, a bold concept is the cheapest way for Alfa Romeo to show it still has a pulse. The brand's last headline reveal was the 33 Stradale supercar back in 2023.

The unveiling happens at Alfa Romeo's press conference on October 12 at 10:55 a.m. CEST — 4:55 a.m. ET — after which the concept stays on display in Hall 4 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles through October 18. The company hasn't said whether the design previews a production model.
