GMC Still Sells Three Electric Trucks. Here's What They Cost After Ford Quit

The Sierra EV starts at $64,995 and either HUMMER EV at $99,895 — in a segment where Ford has dropped the F-150 Lightning and GM has idled its own EV truck plant twice.

GMC sells three electric trucks for 2026, and the price gap between them is roughly $35,000. The Sierra EV pickup starts at $64,995, while the HUMMER EV Pickup and HUMMER EV SUV both open at $99,895, according to GMC's current lineup listing.

The Sierra EV is the closest thing GMC has to a volume EV. For 2026 it comes in Elevation, AT4, and Denali trims with three battery sizes, a much broader spread than a year ago, when Edmunds notes the truck was sold only as a Denali. The Elevation Standard Range is the entry point; GMC's own site lists it at an EPA-estimated 283 miles. At the top, the AT4 Max Range and Denali Max Range carry a GM-estimated 478 miles, with up to 760 hp and 785 lb-ft in Max Power mode and a 12,500-pound tow rating on Extended Range models.

The two HUMMER EVs are built on the same 2X and 3X trim structure. GMC estimates the 2X SUV at 319 miles and the 3X at 310, while the pickup is rated at 316 miles in base form. The headline figures belong to the 3X Pickup with the optional 24-module battery: 363 miles and 1,160 hp. The SUV's 3X tops out at 830 hp. Super Cruise hands-free driving, four-wheel steering with CrabWalk, and a 13.4-inch center screen are standard on every HUMMER EV, and the $99,895 base price includes destination.

A lineup with fewer rivals than it had a year ago

The more interesting story is who GMC is no longer competing with. Ford confirmed on December 15, 2025, that it had ended production of the all-electric F-150 Lightning as part of a broader pullback that includes a $19.5 billion charge on its EV programs. The next Lightning will be an extended-range EV with a gasoline generator on board, and Ford hasn't said when it arrives. That leaves the Sierra EV and its Chevrolet Silverado EV twin, the Rivian R1T, and Tesla's Cybertruck as the remaining full-size electric pickups on sale in the U.S. Rivian priced the 2026 R1T from $72,990 for the dual-motor Standard version.

Fewer rivals haven't translated into more sales. In the second quarter of 2026, GMC delivered 1,756 Sierra EVs, up 15 percent year over year, while HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV sales fell 57 percent to a combined 1,948 units. Across all brands, GM's EV deliveries dropped 33 percent in the quarter against a 4 percent decline for the company overall. The federal $7,500 credit for new EVs expired on September 30, 2025, and the market hasn't recovered since.

That shows up at the factory. All three GMC EVs are built at Factory ZERO in Detroit-Hamtramck, which GM cut to a single shift in January after laying off 1,200 workers in October 2025. The plant was idled again from mid-March to mid-April this year, sending another 1,300 workers home for a month.

GMC hasn't announced changes for the 2027 model year, and the company hasn't indicated whether the HUMMER EV's price, which rose by $800 in December, will move again. For now, the pitch is unchanged: the longest-range electric pickup you can buy from a Detroit automaker, and a 1,160-hp HUMMER for those who want it. The buyers, so far, are staying away in large numbers.
