Rivian Cuts 2027 R1 Performance Financing to 1.99% APR, but the R2 Gets No Deal

Five November offers cover the R1S and R1T through year-end, plus $500 off orders placed by November 9. The best-selling R2 isn't included.

Rivian has cut the financing rate on the 2027 R1 Performance to 1.99% APR, half the 3.99% it advertised in October, as part of a five-offer November lineup for the R1S and R1T. None of the deals applies to the R2, which became the company's best-selling model last quarter.

The offers are listed on Rivian's offers page and add to the brand-by-brand picture in our look at who is cutting car prices and why. All five run for 60 months, are limited to very well-qualified buyers who make a qualifying down payment, and require the vehicle to be ordered through Rivian's R1 Shop.

What's on offer

  • 2026 R1S and R1T Dual and Tri: as low as 1.99% APR
  • 2026 R1 Quad: as low as 3.99% APR
  • 2027 R1 Performance: as low as 1.99% APR
  • 2027 R1 Premium and Premium Long Range with Power Upgrade: as low as 2.99% APR
  • 2027 R1 Premium and Premium Long Range: as low as 3.99% APR

Buyers must get an approved financing offer from Rivian's lender between November 3 and November 30 and take delivery by December 31. Rivian puts the cost at $17.54 per month for every $1,000 financed at 1.99%, $17.99 at 2.99%, and $18.45 at 3.99%. Its own example is a 2027 R1T Performance priced at $102,885, including the $1,895 destination fee.

On top of the rates, Rivian is taking $500 off any new 2026 or 2027 R1 ordered from inventory between November 5 and November 9, with delivery by year-end. The company says that discount can be combined with its current offers.

Deeper on the 2027 cars, smaller on the flash sale

In October, Rivian offered 3.99% on every 2027 R1 Premium and Performance configuration. November splits that into three tiers and moves the two more expensive ones down. The 2026 Dual and Tri rate stays at 1.99%. An October offer of 6.49% over 72 months on the 2027 R1 Quad isn't on the November list.

The short sales event shrank. Rivian ran two in October: $500 off from October 8 to 12 and $1,000 off from October 22 to 26.

Subsidized rates have become one of the few levers left on price since the federal clean vehicle credit of up to $7,500 ended for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025.

Why the R1 gets the deals

The R1 now shares Rivian's Normal, Illinois, plant with the cheaper R2. In the third quarter, the R2 outsold both the R1 and the electric delivery van, and Rivian delivered a record 19,248 vehicles, as we covered in our report on Rivian's third-quarter results. The company has since narrowed its 2026 delivery forecast to 67,000 to 70,000 vehicles, according to its third-quarter release.

Rivian hasn't said how many R1s are in inventory or whether the rates will carry into December. For buyers deciding between the two lines, our R2 vs. Tesla Model Y comparison covers what the newer SUV costs and offers.
