Nissan's Rogue Hybrid Hits Dealers Next Week With a 38-MPG EPA Rating
The first cars are $41,490 SR Tech models in limited numbers from late November; the cheaper SV, regular SR, and Platinum follow in January.

The first 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrids start reaching U.S. dealers next week, and the EPA has now put a number on the efficiency Nissan has been promising: 41 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 38 mpg combined. The catch is which Rogue Hybrid you can actually get first. It's the loaded one.
Nissan says the launch opens with a single configuration, the all-wheel-drive SR with the SR Technology Package, in limited quantities from late November. The SV, the regular SR, and the Platinum follow in January 2027. The full price ladder has been public since the September reveal, and it's laid out in our 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid price and release-date guide.
The expensive one comes first
The early car carries a $41,490 MSRP, or $43,065 once Nissan's $1,575 destination charge is added. The entry SV is listed at $35,490, so shoppers who want the cheapest hybrid Rogue will wait about two more months. Nissan hasn't said how many SR Tech cars are in the first wave and tells buyers to check dealer inventory.
Every Rogue Hybrid comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The larger 14.3-inch display with Google built-in is optional on the SR and standard on the Platinum, according to Nissan's press kit.

The hybrid also carries a clear premium over the gas car. The 2027 Rogue with the VC-Turbo engine starts at $29,690, and a gas Rogue Platinum AWD lists at $39,790, against $43,490 for the Hybrid Platinum.
How the e-Power system works
Nissan's e-Power setup differs from a conventional hybrid in one key way: the engine never drives the wheels. A 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder, rated at 148 hp, works only as a generator feeding a 1.67-kWh lithium-ion battery. Two electric motors, one per axle, drive the car with a combined 225 hp, and all-wheel drive is standard. The system was named to the Wards 10 Best Engines list earlier this month, before a single car had been delivered.

Nissan calls the Rogue Hybrid the only hybrid in its class with a fully electric drivetrain and cites AMCI-certified testing to claim the quickest acceleration and shortest 60-0 mph braking among rival hybrids. Those are the automaker's comparisons, not independent results. The car is built at Nissan Motor Kyushu in Japan, according to the press kit.
How 38 mpg stacks up
The rating puts the Rogue Hybrid in the thick of the segment rather than at the top. Honda's 2027 CR-V Hybrid with AWD is rated at 37 mpg combined in Sport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring form, according to Cars.com, and the CR-V Hybrid range starts at $37,580 including destination. Toyota quotes 42 mpg combined for the 2026 RAV4 Hybrid LE AWD, which costs $34,750 with destination. We compared those two leaders in our CR-V Hybrid vs RAV4 Hybrid breakdown.
Against Nissan's own gas Rogue, the gap is large: the VC-Turbo model tops out at 30 mpg combined in front-drive S and SV form, per Nissan.
Tiago Castro, Nissan's senior vice president of U.S. marketing and sales, described the model as "the next step in Nissan's U.S. growth story."
What's next
The public will get its first look at the Nissan stand at the 2026 Los Angeles Auto Show, which runs November 20 to 29. The bigger test comes in January, when the $35,490 SV arrives and the Rogue Hybrid finally competes on price as well as on refinement.
