Ford Spreads the Bronco Raptor’s V6 Across the 2027 Lineup at 380 HP — Still No Prices

The twin-turbo 3.0-liter becomes an option on the Outer Banks, Badlands, and Heritage and standard on the Filson. Ford’s update skips prices, order dates, and the fate of the smaller engines.

Ford has detailed the 2027 Bronco, and the main change is under the hood. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6, reserved for the Bronco Raptor in the 2026 lineup, becomes an option on the Outer Banks, Badlands, and Heritage, where Ford says it makes 380 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.

The same engine is standard on the new Bronco Filson. What Ford's model-year rundown leaves out is any price or order date, the two gaps that have sat in our 2027 Ford Bronco guide since the new models were revealed.

The Raptor's V6, 38 hp down

Ford describes the engine as sharing its architecture with the Bronco Raptor's. The numbers show where the line is drawn: torque matches the Raptor's 440 lb-ft, but power stops 38 hp short of the Raptor's 418 hp, going by Ford's 2026 Bronco specifications.

Against the engines other Bronco buyers can order today, the gain is larger. The 2.7-liter V6 peaks at 330 hp and 415 lb-ft on premium fuel, and the 2.3-liter four-cylinder at 300 hp and 325 lb-ft. The new option adds 50 hp and 25 lb-ft over the V6 and 80 hp over the four. Ford hasn't said which fuel the 380-hp rating assumes.

The figure also settles an open question about the Filson. When Ford revealed that model in June, it called the V6 specially tuned but published no output. It is now official: 380 hp, the same as the optional engine in the other three trims.

The Bronco's closest rivals have nothing in between. The 2026 Jeep Wrangler's 3.6-liter V6 makes up to 285 hp, according to Jeep, and the only step above it is the limited-run, 470-hp Wrangler 392. Toyota's hybrid 4Runner makes 326 hp and 465 lb-ft, as covered in our Passport TrailSport vs. 4Runner comparison.

Vinyl replaces leather, and a new blue

  • Outer Banks with the Lux Package: premium vinyl seats replace the leather that used to be standard.
  • Badlands: upgraded marine-grade vinyl, including the first power-adjustable vinyl seat offered on the trim.
  • Big Bend with the Mid Package: a heated steering wheel becomes available.
  • Colors: Neptune Blue, an extra-cost paint, replaces Velocity Blue. The Filson gets two colors of its own, Field Green and Iron Sands Metallic.

The Outer Banks change cuts both ways. Ford pitches vinyl as durable and easy to clean, but Lux Package buyers lose leather that was previously part of the deal.

What Ford still hasn't said

Prices, above all. Ford has offered only two markers so far: a targeted starting MSRP in the mid-$70,000s for the Filson, and a Bronco RTR that starts just over $50,000 before destination. Neither is a final price, and Monday's update repeats neither. On the RTR, it adds only a look at the Hyper Lime-accented cabin.

The engine reference even carries a footnote about MSRP, with no price anywhere in the text for it to explain.

Also missing: what the 3.0-liter option costs, whether the 2.3-liter and 2.7-liter engines carry over (the rundown doesn't name them), EPA fuel economy, and the day order banks open. Ford said in early October that orders for the Filson and RTR would open later this month.

Demand gives Ford little reason to hurry. The Bronco posted a record 38,020 sales in the third quarter, as detailed in our breakdown of Ford's Q3 results. Until the order guide arrives, the open question is whether the 380-hp V6 is a modest step up from the 2.7-liter or a Raptor engine with Raptor-adjacent pricing.
