The 2027 Jeep Cherokee Costs $130 More and Adds Two Blacked-Out Trims

Jeep’s hybrid SUV now comes in seven versions, with two gloss black Altitude trims and four new paint colors. Pricing for most of the lineup is still unannounced.

The 2027 Jeep Cherokee's second model year is mostly about choice. The hybrid SUV's lineup grows from four trims to seven, adding two blacked-out Altitude versions alongside the off-road Cherokee Trailhawk, while the entry price rises by just $130.

Jeep says the base Cherokee now starts at $37,125, including a $1,995 destination charge. At launch, the 2026 model cost $36,995 with the same destination fee. Orders for every 2027 version, Trailhawk included, are open now.

Two Altitude trims, no prices yet

The new Laredo Altitude and Limited Altitude follow the formula Jeep uses across its range, swapping bright trim for gloss black. Both get 18-inch gloss black aluminum wheels and black badges. The Laredo Altitude adds Capri leatherette seats with suede inserts, while the Limited Altitude gets a gloss black roof on top of the Limited's equipment.

The full ladder now runs Cherokee, Laredo, Laredo Altitude, Limited, Limited Altitude, Trailhawk, and Overland. Jeep hasn't published 2027 prices for anything between the base model and the $44,625 Trailhawk. For 2026, the Laredo started at $39,995, the Limited at $42,495, and the Overland at $45,995.

Four new colors

Fathom Blue and Ghost join the palette now. Copper Shino and Goldilocks arrive later in the model year. Carryover shades include Bright White, Diamond Black, Sting Gray, and Red Hot. Inside, buyers choose between Global Black and Arctic, and Mantis Green upholstery stays exclusive to the Trailhawk.

The hardware doesn't change. Every Cherokee uses a 210-hp 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid four-cylinder, which Jeep estimates at 37 mpg combined and 39 mpg city, good for more than 500 miles on a tank. The company calls it the most efficient Jeep ever without a plug. Properly equipped, the Cherokee tows 3,500 pounds.

Still a premium over the RAV4

The small increase keeps the Cherokee above the segment's best-sellers. Toyota's hybrid-only 2026 RAV4 LE starts at $34,750 with all-wheel drive and destination. That makes the base Cherokee, with standard four-wheel drive, $2,375 more expensive. Buyers cross-shopping should also look at how the CR-V and RAV4 hybrids compare and our 2027 Hyundai Tucson guide.

Jeep's case rests on capability rather than price. It claims the best approach, breakover, and departure angles in the class, and with the Trailhawk, the class's only 24-inch water fording rating.

Production continues at Stellantis' Toluca Assembly Complex in Mexico. Jeep hasn't said when 2027 models will reach dealers or what the Altitude trims will cost. Full details are on the Stellantis media site.
