Every New EV Coming to America in 2027 — and the Ones That Slipped

Eight new electric vehicles have an official U.S. arrival window inside calendar 2027, four more have dates that come only from press reports, and at least eight that once carried a 2027 label have slipped, stalled, or died. That is the state of play as of late September 2026, and the catch is that most of the 2027 arrivals are badged as 2028 model-year cars, and only three of the twelve have a price.

This page tracks what is actually on the way to American showrooms in 2027. We count a car by the year it goes on sale, not by its model year, and we list a price only when the automaker has published one. Rows move between sections as dates firm up or slide; the update log at the bottom shows what changed.

Confirmed for 2027, by the automakers themselves

Toyota Highlander (electric) — early 2027, 2028 model year. Toyota's next Highlander is EV-only, and its press release now says the XLE AWD and Limited AWD grades with the 95.8-kWh battery go on sale in early 2027 as 2028 model-year vehicles, with the 77.0-kWh XLE FWD following in mid-2027. Toyota quotes 338 hp for AWD models and 221 hp for FWD, plus manufacturer-estimated range of 315 miles for the big battery and 270 to 287 miles for the small one. It is built in Georgetown, Kentucky, has a NACS port, and has no MSRP: Toyota says pricing comes "closer to on-sale date."

Genesis GV90 — early 2027, 2028 model year. Genesis USA's own GV90 page says the three-row flagship is "Arriving Early 2027" and calls it a 2028 model. There are three versions — Neolun First Edition, Neolun, and GV90 — a two-motor drivetrain, and multi-chamber air suspension. No U.S. price, no EPA rating, and the Korean launch price has not appeared either. Our GV90 hub tracks that.

Subaru Getaway — spring 2027, 2028 model year. Subaru's site lists the three-row EV as "Coming: Spring 2027" and, as of September, as a 2028 model; Subaru confirmed the model-year change to Kelley Blue Book on September 3. The spec sheet reads 420 hp, standard symmetrical AWD, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, up to approximately 300 miles of range, and Tesla Supercharger access. Three trims: Premium, Limited, Touring. Ford Fathom — pre-orders early 2027, deliveries later in 2027. This is the rare 2027 EV with an official price. Ford's Fathom page lists $28,350 to start plus $1,595 destination, says pre-orders "will begin early next year," and adds that projected EPA range "is not yet available." Ford has said production starts at Louisville Assembly in the first quarter of 2027. The truck has not been fully revealed, and Ford has not said when it will be. Mercedes-Benz C 400 4MATIC Electric — first half of 2027, 2027 model year. Mercedes-Benz USA said in April that the electric C-Class "arrives at U.S. dealerships in the first half of 2027." That is an official date; the price is not. The cheaper C 300 Electric added in Germany in September has no U.S. plan.

BMW i3 50 xDrive — 2027, reservations open September 29. BMW's second Neue Klasse model, the electric 3 Series, is a car BMW of North America has slated for 2027 since last December. BMW quotes 463 hp, 476 lb-ft, up to 440 miles of preliminary EPA-procedure range, and 400-kW charging through a native NACS port. BMW of North America emails put U.S. reservations at September 29, and InsideEVs reports first deliveries in the first quarter of 2027. No price yet.

Rivian R2 Premium and Standard — early 2027. The $57,990 R2 Launch Edition has been delivering since June 9. The trims most buyers are waiting for come next: CEO RJ Scaringe said on the August earnings call that Premium and Standard arrive "in the early part of 2027." Rivian's March pricing put the Standard at $48,490 and a roughly $45,000 base version in late 2027.

Range Rover Electric — orders open, 2027 model year. Land Rover opened U.S. orders on September 2 at $140,450 for the SE, with 542 hp, a 118.5-kWh pack, and a brand-estimated 333 miles of range. It has not said when the first U.S. cars land, so this is the one confirmed row without a month.

Dated only by press reports

• BMW iX3 40 and 40 xDrive — reportedly March 2027 (BMWBlog, citing a forum source), with a price expected somewhere in the mid-$50,000s. BMW has not put an official month or price on the cheaper trims. Background in our iX3 comparison.
• Ram 1500 REV — the range-extended pickup that replaced the canceled full-electric version. A Stellantis spokesperson told Automotive News that Ram is "on track" for 2027; a supplier memo seen by the same outlet put production start in April 2027. No price.
• Jaguar Type 01 — the reveal is official: New York, October 6. The market date is not. Autocar, citing JLR's June investor day, expects sales in the first half of 2027; JLR has not published a U.S. date or price.
• Lucid Cosmos — Lucid's midsize SUV. CEO Silvio Napoli told investors in August that production starts in early 2027 in Saudi Arabia and ramps in the second half, at a price "under $50,000." Whether U.S. customers see cars before December is not something Lucid has said.

Two Tesla question marks

The Tesla Roadster gets its reveal on October 1 in Waco, Texas. Elon Musk has said production follows 12 to 18 months after the reveal, which points past 2027; we will move it once Tesla names a date. Our Roadster hub has the deposit terms. The Cybercab carries paying riders in Austin, but a consumer version exists only as Musk's "around $30,000" remark; nothing says 2027. Here is how to ride one in the meantime.

Slipped out of 2027, or gone

• Volkswagen ID. Buzz — a boundary case. VW skipped the 2027 model year; the van returns as a 2028 model in the first half of 2027, a spokesperson confirmed to InsideEVs. A returning model, not a new one, so it sits here. Our report.
• Scout Traveler and Terra — Scout says initial production starts in 2027 and customers take delivery in 2028. AutoForecast Solutions, via Automotive News, predicts later still; Scout disputes it.
• Rivian R3 — production in Georgia in 2028, per Rivian.
• Kia EV4 — the U.S. launch has been delayed "until further notice" since October 2025.
• Honda 0 Saloon, 0 SUV, and Acura RSX — canceled on March 11, 2026.
• Polestar 5 and 7 — off the table. The Commerce Department denied Polestar authorization under the Connected Vehicle Rule in June, and Polestar says it will not sell new 2027-and-later models in the U.S.
• Audi A2 e-tron and Hyundai Ioniq 3 — not coming. Audi describes the A2 as built for European customers; Hyundai Motor America told MotorTrend it has "no plans" for the Ioniq 3.

Already here, so not counted

Several EVs that share the 2027 model-year label are already priced and arriving in 2026: the Chevrolet Bolt, the Kia EV3, the Volvo EX60 (from $58,400), the BMW iX3 50 xDrive ($61,500 plus $1,350), the Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 4MATIC Electric ($64,950 including destination), the Jeep Recon, and the Slate Truck ($24,950, first deliveries promised for the fourth quarter). The Porsche Cayenne Electric is the trickiest case: the 2026 model was slated for U.S. deliveries at the end of summer 2026, and the 2027 model Porsche began taking orders for on September 16 — $109,000 to $168,000 before a $2,350 delivery fee — ships in the first quarter of 2027. Porsche has not said how many 2026 cars, if any, have reached U.S. customers, so we treat it as a 2026 launch until the sales reports say otherwise.

What we don't know yet

• Prices for the Highlander, GV90, Getaway, C 400 Electric, i3, iX3 40, Ram 1500 REV, Type 01, and Cosmos — nine of the twelve dated cars.
• EPA ratings for nearly everything above; Toyota, Subaru, BMW, and Land Rover figures are manufacturer estimates.
• When the first Range Rover Electric reaches a U.S. driveway, and whether any 2026 Cayenne Electric already has.
• Whether Ford's full Fathom reveal and the early-2027 pre-order date hold.
• Whether Scout's 2027 production start survives contact with the Blythewood build-out.
• Any Tesla date for either the Roadster or a retail Cybercab.

What's next

October is busy: the Roadster reveal on the 1st, the Jaguar Type 01 reveal on the 6th, BMW's i3 reservation opening on September 29 just before, and Porsche's third-quarter U.S. sales report, which should settle the Cayenne Electric question. Toyota's Highlander pricing should land ahead of the early-2027 launch, and Genesis needs Korean GV90 pricing before U.S. numbers can follow. Any of those moves a row on this page.
